It is hard to say goodbye to such a dedicated Granddad. Together with our Grandma, he would make the effort to see us wherever we were, whether it was annual trips to Kenya or the drives over to Germany in summer. Even when he found travelling tiring he still come to see me in Frankfurt and Florence. He put the same effort into our visits to see him, with pantomimes every Christmas (one of our favourite parts of coming to England) or the holidays in Devon and Disneyland. One thing I’m especially glad about is that a couple years ago we managed to make a long planned trip to Ireland to see where he grew up. I'm going to miss him hugely.
